Indie games have been winning for years. Not by accident. By being better.
AAA games are designed by committee. They appeal to everybody, so they appeal to nobody. Polished but familiar.
Indie games are personal. One person or a small team making exactly what they want. Hades, Stardew Valley, Hollow Knight. You feel the difference.
Indie games take risks. Weird mechanics, unusual stories, strange art. Some fail. The ones that work become classics.
AAA games are safe. That is why they are boring.
The numbers prove it. Stardew Valley was made by one person and sold 20 million copies. Many AAA games with hundreds of developers sell less.
The industry is learning. Big publishers buy indie studios. But you cannot committee creativity.
